family and other 2010 faves!

hilary was honestly one of these young ladies who is obviously very natural in front of the camera. the images from her senior session were amazing. I had to giver her very little direction with posing and expression. she was such a pleasure to work with and we really had a great variety of images from her session. this particular image is one of my favorites mostly because it's simple. black and white, no crazy props or outfits, just a beautiful image that says a lot about who hilary is!

this was such a fun family shoot and of course because i’m a car guy, loved including the Corvette in some of the shots. it was actually a surprise having it there and it wasn’t until they pulled up in it and I asked, “do you want some shots with the car” that we set up this shot as well as some other really fun poses. thanks Thurber family for such a great shoot. it was super hot that day but you all did great!2010 was such a fun year that was full of some very memorable family sessions. shooting on location always makes for unique imagery that is far from cookie cutter : ) the kiddos are my favorite! i think because at heart, i’m just a big kid with a camera. i love getting down with those little ones and having a blast. and the expressions that come from that interaction makes for some great imagery and memories for our wonderful clients! enjoy some of my favorites from 2010! i’ll be adding more so keep checking back!

kylie, korben and korinn are triplets and actually a part of our family too! i've been photographing them for almost 2 yrs now and each shoot keeps getting better. they're so much fun that it's almost impossible to get them to quit giggling! they're laughter is contagious! that's why this shot was so difficult but they actually did exactly what i wanted them to! and this shot was the result. i LOVE children's photography like this. i can't say why other than it's just something a little different and when i ask children to give me a "serious" face i sometimes get some unique expressions!

i've been photographing little ryker since he was a newborn. and the images just keep getting more animated! he's such a ham. this shot was done at the family's home and ryker did great! mom had some great outfits, this one of course being his little rocker outfit!

we do several shoots for the down syndrome association of greater st louis and last year we did one at the gateway arch. annie was so much fun to work with and was such a sweetheart. i actually captured this shot as she was running between the "legs" of the arch.

another kylie that loves to ham it up for the camera. it was hilarious because the morning of the shoot was the first time i met her and her family and so she was of course she was little shy. but her mom reassured me that she could "turn it on" on cue and she absolutely did! she could easily have a future in modeling if she wanted to!
