so a few weeks ago, before st louis was by some nasty tornadoes, i ventured out with andy and maggie to capture an amazingly fun-filled e/session. i love creative people and time and again i’m blessed with couples who are willing to try something different and even get out of their comfort zones a little. maggie and andy and definitely creative! if you remember from my previous entries, they both met because of being in the news broadcast biz. so i went out on a limb when throwing out ideas and i asked if we could do something at the tv station that maggie works at, THE channel 4 here in the lou, KMOV. she suggested since she’s a reporter and andy’s a videographer, what if we brought one of the news vans out and incorporated it into the shoot. PERFECT!! so they arranged for a coworker (who btw came out EVEN on his day off, what a guy!) and sure enough, here comes the van as we’re arriving to shoot in city garden. so with a little “persuasion” with the park police, they let us pull the van in and position it just perfect so that we could incorporate several st louis icons in the shot with maggie, andy and the channel 4 van! i’m a true photography nerd because this about sent me into “photo nerd shock”. what a blast!
we did of course visit historic soulard and take a moment to capture a couple shots in front of one of their favorite hangouts, iTap. and then to a few other spots before finishing up in city garden.
thank you maggie and andy for being open to some crazy ideas and giving me some of yours as well. you both rocked it!
fortunately we were able to get their session in just days before a nasty tornado ripped through st louis, hitting the very neighborhood and home that maggie grew up in! i think she finally got a break after 14 days in a row of work.
congrats on a great session you two, can’t wait for your 9.10.11 wedding!!
